Perfect Shave

  • If possible shave before going to bed, this gives the skin time to repair before facing the rigours of your day.
  • Shave in, or immediately after a shower, the steam opens up the pores.
  • Wet face with warm water and wash with pre shave treatment or face wash.
  • For thick growth use an oil or moisturiser and leave for 1-2 minutes before applying shaving product, this softens hair for a smoother shave.
  • A quality shaving brush exfoliates the skin and lifts the bristles, reducing in-growing hairs.
  • Never use soap, use a good gel or cream with healing ingredients(aloe-vera, tea tree oil, vitamin e) and move the brush in circular a motion until you have a thick lather.
  • Using unhurried strokes, shave with the grain whilst keeping your skin taught between thumb and forefinger, remembering to rinse the blade regularly. Leave the top lip and chin areas till last, this is where the growth is usually the thickest.
  • If you need to shave closer in some areas, apply more lather before re shaving.
  • Rinse face with cold water, and apply a post shave gel and moisturiser. Never use alcohol based products.
  • We recommend Baxters almond face scrub.
